A wonderful, superlative example of Georgian penmanship, (albeit executed in 1839), rendered as The Lord’s Prayer.
Every element is produced with pen and ink with a countless array of different lettering and numerous angels made up of scrolls. At the centre is a tiny map of the United Kingdom. Signed within two scrolling bands lower left and right ‘Executed at Wendover Academy by William Ivalls Xmas 1839’.
Within a copy of a period moulding frame, ebonized oak with a gilt slip.
o.s:21 inches x 31 inches.
