A small late 18th Century French verge in an unusual pearl set gold and enamel case.  Small full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  

Winding through the signed white enamel dial,  Roman and Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands.  Very unusual gold and enamel consular case, the extended enamelled edge circular in cross section and decorated with a spiral string of small pearls.  The back decorated in translucent dark violet enamel over an engine turned ground, a flower at its centre within a gilt band.  Sprung gold and enamel bezel open by depressing a button in the gold pendant.
