A Pair of Walnut George II Style Armchairs.
In the manner of Giles Grendey.
The walnut elbow chairs carved with delightful detail and upholstered in a bold blue woven fabric, the chairs with ball & claw foot cabriole legs to the front and shaped pad feet to the rear, the curved seat and serpentine backrests with carved mouldings and padded for comfort, with scrolled & outswept 'shepherd's crook' armrests.
English, circa 1910.
The design of these chairs is firmly rooted in the Georgian era of furniture making known as the "Age of Walnut", and Giles Grendey was one of its most famous designers.
