A pair of Satsuma earthenware vases, each of baluster form painted in coloured enamels and gilding with a continuous band showing courtly pursuits including, calligraphy, playing go reading and making music, above a band of floral sprays, the shoulder all within further bands of kiku flowerheads and textile pattern borders.
