A Pair of Louis XVI Style Chenets.
Constructed from finely cast and chased gilt bronze, these decorative firedogs with attenuated rectangular plinths are supported on oblate toupie feet, the corners dressed with rosettes flanking pierced panels, a large fluted column with laurel collar dressed with relief mandorlas of female Classical figures suspended from a lovers' bow and draped with floral garlands; surmounted by urns with flambeau finials.
