A fine pair of Regency period mahogany library bergere chairs.  Attributed to Gillow's of Lancaster.

Each having a caned back and seat, with a leather buttoned loose cushion. Note the fine carved detailing on the top rails and sides, along with the turned tapering front reeded legs. An interesting feature is the two turned wooden bars at the back of the chair for extra support for the frame of the chair. This in my opinion is a great feature which I haven't seen before.

Seat height including the cushion 46cm; Height of back 85cm. Width 49cm

English circa 1815
