A Pair of Late Georgian Adjustable Tripod Tables
Attributed to Gillows
Carved from mahogany, the tables supported on fluted and splayed legs with carved ball feet, the turned and reeded baluster-shaped stems of adjustable height having rectangular lipped platforms.
Circa 1820
In addition to the exceptional quality of the workmanship and the use of the finest available timbers expected of Gillows, these tripod tables incorporate unusual ball feet also seen on furniture delivered by the firm to Tatton Park in the early nineteenth century.
