Pair of Japanese Imari dishes, 18th century, with gently lobed rims, each decorated in the centre with branches of flowering peony and willow issuing from rockwork in a fenced garden, the rim with with six alternating panels containing either an iron red floral diaper and scrolling flowerheads against a blue ground, or delicate water lillies and foliate lotus against a vibrant red ground, the reverse with two sprays of plum and typical spur marks to the base.
