A pair of exceptional early George III silver Sauce boats of plain oval form onto oval shaped pedestal feet. The bodies are unembellised but the rims have a gadroon border.
The scroll handles are embellished with leaf decorated thumb pieces. The beautiful cast, shaped feet are pierced giving a scrolling effect . The Sauce boats are made by the Goldsmith to King George III Thomas Heming 1760-1782.These sauceboats are made in the French taste which was very fashionable but only amongst the upper echelons of English society at the time.
