An elegant pair of George III antique silver wine coasters with gadroon borders. The bodies of the coasters are plain bellied with an engraved diamond shaped motif with inscription “odor vitae” which means the sweet smell of life.The crest is used by the Hutton family of Marske in the county of York - these fine coasters belonged to John Hutton who was sheriff of the county of York in 1825.

The bases are of turned wood and have green baize to the underside.
