A pair of good quality French 1st standard (.950 pure ) silver gilt dishes made in Paris c1905 by Paul Canaux for the Maharaja of Baroda.Each dish is engraved with the Maharajas crest twice and is engraved to the back with the maker and the amount of silver and fineness of silver used in their fashioning.These form a part of a large quantity bought from his estate.The Maharaja at this time was one of the richest men on earth at this time and his palace was the largest residence in the world.Lakshmi Vilas Palace.
