A very chic pair of large early 19th Century walnut marble top console tables.
Northern Italian circa 1825.
Of grande proportions and a sleek design rarely seen of Northern Italian origin.
The rectangular figured white marble tops above a cushion moulded frieze with hidden drawer held by gadrooned serpentine front supports, over Greek key incised brackets, united by arc en arbalete shaped platforms on semi-circular feet.
Very smart and imposing pair of consoles of unusual design showing the strong Greek influences of the period.
Will work in both a contemporary and traditional setting.
