Condition report

A satisfyingly elegant and well-designed pair of wrought iron demi-lune shaped consoles which can be put together, back-to-back, to create a circular table. The "D" shaped sheet metal tops are weathered and oxidised and bear a richly patinated surface, suggesting that they have lived indoors, probably in a an orangery or conservatory, for many years and which they may originally have been commissioned for. The sheet metal is folded over a metal frame to form the tops, and these are raised on three scrolled cabriole form legs joined by central "D" shaped stretchers, above generous scrolled feet and low arched stretchers. Both tables are in excellent original condition, showing no evidence of any significant damage or restoration. The metal has oxidised and patinated and yet still acquired a good well patinated surface. This is an unusual pair of creatively designed consoles with strong graphic lines and satisfying proportions, which would work well in both contemporary and traditional interior spaces. Simply timeless.
