A rare pair of large American silver mugs made in c1855 by Mortimer Eoff and George.L.Shepard of New York who worked exclusively for the retailers Ball,Black and Company.Eoff and Shepard were working 1852-1860.This fine pair of mugs are larger than normal and will contain about 660 ml each (about 1.15 Uk pints-1.45 US pints).Each one is beautifully engraved with the original owners script initials’A B’and they are both in excellent condition.
