An excellent quality pair of 19th century Mahogany Library Armchairs, in the French Empire Taste.

Having swept back and moulded scrolling arms with c-scroll supports, raised on elegant moulded sabre legs.

A relatively typical design in the early to mid 19th century, these chairs are in the French Empire taste which was most popular at the time.

They have the added benefit of being much more sturdy and practical than the English Regency Chaise Longues and similar items which were being produced in this period.

They are very good quality however and it is nice that they are constructed from Mahogany, rather than a softer, less dense wood which may have worn significantly by now.

They are very comfortable, very practical and in excellent condition, ready to be placed into a whole host of different positions and uses around the home.

Circa 1830.

Height - 36in.
Width - 22.5in.
Depth - 20in.
