An outstanding and large late 15th century South German / North Italian sculpture of the Pieta. Circa 1480.
This magnificent late medieval sculpture retains almost all of its original polychrome decoration. The Sculptor has captured all of the emotions in the facial expressions both in the Virgin Mary and the Christ figure. A truly exceptional late medieval sculpture.
