Unusual 19th Century oak-cased ‘Farmer’s Barometer’ – Numbered 377 ; the ogee pediment over porcelain register plates, signed by the makers and with Admiral Fitzroy’s ‘Remarks’.
Manually adjustable vernier and twin ‘wet-and-dry’ bulb Fahrenheit thermometers. The trunk with original exposed barometer tube terminating in rectilinear cistern cover.
Negretti & Zambra were the foremost instrument makers of the latter 19th Century, and produced limited numbers of such barometers for the home market.
