A good Napoleon III gilt mantel clock by Deniere, the dial supporting a reclining bronze classical muse reading a large tome, on a white marble plinth decorated with classical ormolu mounts of acanthus scrolls enclosing putti.
Signed Deniere Ft. de bronzes a Paris on the dial and Cailleaux Medalle d’or (gold medal) Paris 1827 on the movement.
