About the object
A cleverly constructed box of three drawers in the form of a bow-fronted chest of drawers, mahogany with boxwood stringing and sycamore linings, lions mask brass pulls and standing on bracket feet. All but the bottom drawer are held closed by means of a strip of sprung wood to their base-board, accessible only from the space made by removing the drawer beneath, thus, once the lowest drawer is locked all are secured closed.
English circa 1810.
