Kraak Blue and White Bottle vase made at the end of the reign of the Emperor Wanli towards the end of the Ming Dynasty. Painted in the distinctive style with panels of flowers and foliage with stylised decoration of coins at the bottom of some panels.
The panels are separated with narrow bands of lines. The base of the neck has flowers below a band of stylised cloud scrolls.
the neck has 'Persian' metal ware of silver to the top of the neck with a fitted lid. Excellent patina to the silver.
The Kraak ware was initially carried by the Dutch East Indian Company to Europe where it was much prized.
In Rinaldi's book Kraak Porcelain a Moment in the History of Trade it is Pl 208 pear shape bottle vase type 1.1
