Ming Blue and White Small Plate.
Chinese late 16th century early 17th century blue and white Kraak porcelain deep saucer pale with a domed centre to the base on the inside.
Excellent painting and potting with the centre showing a typical aquatic scene with a duck swimming around aquatic plants of reeds and lilies.
The outer border painted with lily pads alternating with lotus flowers.
Excellent colour and although it is export porcelain it is not typical of the early Kraak.
The domed centre is thought to be a copy of the Dutch pewter shapes of this period, Although many of the plates are larger than this pretty saucer it is an excellent example of this type.
