A very attractive mid 19th century black laquered shaped Papier Mache Tray with elegant painted and gilded decoration.

Housed on later faux stand with faux bamboo design legs and cross stretcher.

What better way to look after the environment than to recycle beautiful, old, antique objects with little purpose in the modern world, and give them a new purpose.

That's exactly what’s happened to this pretty little Papier Mache tray. It is now a very attractive and very functional coffee table or even a side table.

With the added bonus that the tray is still removable and can therefore be used as an actual tray as and when required.

This particular tray is a sweet small size which is big enough to be practical but not so big it would be overpowering in a room.

It is also in largely excellent condition with just some minor old marks, scratches, scuffs and dents. Which is to be expected in an object of this age which has been well used throughout the years.

Circa 1850.

Height - 18.5in.
Width - 25in.
Depth - 19.5in.
