A very elegant mid 18th Century Neapolitan silver gilt and painted serpentine fronted Breche Violette marble top console table.

Italy, Naples Circa -1750.

Retaining its wonderful original thick cut of brêche violette marble top, serpentine shaped with a moulded surround. The base with original paint and silver gilt throughout, having a foliate entwined frieze with a central leaf carved medallion, raised on four ornate carved cabriole legs ending in scroll feet.

An exceptional rare example of mid 18th Century Italian design. Of large proportions this console table stands very elegantly. Amazingly after dry scrapping back layers of paint the original paint and silver gilt was found.
