About the object

ENGLAND or SCOTLAND, circa 1740

A railed basket consisting of three bars – the two lowest bars swelling. With scroll-over ends fitted with domed brass roundels. With a curved brass base rail raised at the ends of balustroid and square-knopped supports topped by spire finials and standing on square plinths. The scroll-over iron sides probably replaced. With original removable arched backplate.
