Mid 17th Century Oak Coffer.
ENGLAND, circa 1640-60.
With a boarded top, moulded edge, and pin hinges. The hasp stamped with a maker’s mark ‘DI’.
Moulded panel front, the frieze with carved leaf ‘S’ scrolls and stiles with stylised leaf decoration. The end supports with cupid bow cut out. Original back plate with later 19th Century lock mechanism.
With later bottom boards.
