Very moving medal created as a memorial of Charles I in the reign of his son Charles II. 
Maker: John Roettier. London circa 1660. 

Obverse: Bust of Charles I. Leg. CAROL.D.G.M.B.F.ET.H.REX.&.GLOR.MEM. Below, monogram, R. (John Roettier). 
Reverse: Hand of heaven holding a celestrial crown; below a landscape with sheep feeding without a shepherd. Leg. VIRTVT.EX.ME.FORTVNAM.EX.ALIJS. ([Seek] virtue from me, fortune from others.)
