Louis XV Small Ormolu-Mounted Red Lacquer Bracket Clock, Pierre Musson, Paris.
Circa 1750.
Clock with Bracket: 13 x 7 x 31 inches high (33 x 18 x 79 cm).
With a 7-inch enamel dial, signed Musson A Paris; the similarly signed, bell striking movement, with five knopped pillars; verge escapement with silk suspension and numbered outside count wheel.
The waisted case decorated in gilt with chinoiseries, surmounted by a seated oriental gentleman holding a parasol, above foliate mounts and a hoho bird; on a conforming bracket.
Pierre Musson became a master in1746 and worked until 1780.
