A rare and historically interesting Pilots watch made by Longines for navigational purposes.
On the 20th of May 1927, the American pilot Charles Lindbergh left Roosevelt Airport at the controls of the “Spirit of St. Louis”. Thirty-three hours and thirty minutes later, Lindberg landed in France after completing the first-ever non-stop solo transatlantic flight. 

In the 1930s, Lindberg designed the Lindberg Hour Angle in partnership with Longines, and the watch was put into production. It allowed for accurate determination of longitude during long-distance flights. As a result, pilots and navigators could find their geographic location quickly, efficiently and accurately. 

The watch case is made from stainless steel with a hinged back. Original oversized onion crown. Fitted with the Cal. 18.69N manual wind movement. White enamel dial with an inner scale calibrated 180 degrees, inner silvered rotating disc calibrated for 60 seconds and 1.5 degrees, and blued steel hands.
