An extremely fine and rare George II Limerick silver pap boat made circa 1740 by Jonathan Buck of Limerick. The pap boat is of unusually good gauge and quality and with a superb patina. This is only the second Limerick pap boat that I am aware of. There is another one by Joseph Johns in the Hunt Museum in Limerick made about circa 1760 but of inferior quality. The makers mark of Jonathan Buck is struck twice in a rectangular punch. This mark is represented by 3 or 4 objects in the Limerick Museum, most notably by a brandy pan, a sugar bowl and a saffron teapot ( see in pictures). A rare opportunity to acquire a top class piece of early Limerick silver.
