About the object
An attractive and richly decorated Sevres porcelain plate. This fine piece dates from the late 18th century but was painted later. The decoration consists of a centre panel of exotic birds in a landscape, surrounded by gilt cartouche panels of flamboyant rococo design with a pale blue background colour. On the reverse side is a red mark representing The Hermitage in St Petersburg, Russia and the Sevres mark.
