A Rare Late 15th Century English Carved Oak King Corbel / Roof Boss. East Anglia.
Circa 1480.
This unusual carved and polychromed English king corbel retains almost all of its original polychrome decoration. It depicts a crowned king holding a book, possibly King Edmund of East Anglia. A very tactile and unusual subject.
