A large needlepoint carpet of the 18th Century of Savonnerie design.
This example was finely hand-woven in the last 30 years so the array of colours have pleasantly mellowed with age, including various greens, ivory, red, yellow and blue. Its wonderful geometric pattern is a departure from the many floral examples often found.
A very sophisticated rug that is uncommon in this large format.
