A large huanghuali document box and cover with a moulded lip to the lower edge of the top and upper edge of the lower section with a surface mounted huangtong circular lock plate formed to continue with the moulded edge, with a cloud shaped hasp with a pin hinge, both retained by split pins. The mitred, dovetailed corners are reinforced with surface mounted huangtong mounts with folded over bottom edges over the tielimu base which is tongue and grooved into the interior edge of the vertical boards. The single board top is tongue and grooved and lapped into the vertical boards. Each side is mounted with shaped bail handles with chrysanthemum back plates the back with square hinges all retained by split pins.
