Dublin, 1775 by Joseph Jackson

With original armorial to the front and fully hallmarked to the side.

Joseph Jackson was free of the Dublin Goldsmith's Company in 1775 and was responsible for a diverse selection of objects made in the last quarter of the 18th century. He had a shop in 7 Hoeys Court south side and was apprenticed to Robert Glanville in 1761. He was elected warden of the guild in 1791 to 1793 and Master in 1795-96. He was an exponent of both the Adam and Irish rococo styles where his work displays a note of individuality. He died in 1807.
