A large A E Jones silver arts and crafts silver bowl (or rose bowl) set with very good Ruskin pottery stones. The Ruskin stones are set within a wire work design, and the overall bowl is decorated with repousse stylized (rose) leaves very much in the manner of Bernard Cuzner, who may have designed this bowl. This bowl is hallmarked for 1904. A great example of Jones early authentic arts and crafts work.
This bowl appears in the Studio Year Book 1906, exemplifying quality modern design for that time. See images.
This is from a private collection which includes several other items of Jones Ruskin items I have, and will be, listing.
