A Large and Impressive Sèvres Style Porcelain Vase.
Standing at three feet tall, the baluster-shaped porcelain vase raised on an ormolu octagonal base with pearl band, and an ormolu stiff-leaf collar at the lip. The decoration scheme carried out on a light blue ground with gilt highlights throughout; a continuous scene wrapping around the vase's body depicting bucolic scenes inspired by Classical Antiquity populated with maidens, heroes, putti, and doves within a natural landscape. Together with a mahogany pedestal.
French, circa 1860-80.
