King’s Dragoon Guards - An Officer’s 1834 Pattern Helmet
Gilt brass. Officer’s 1834 Pattern helmet of the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards 1834-1843; plain front peak, acanthus scrolls to back peak, headband bearing regimental title ‘1ST OR KING’S DRAGOON GUARDS’.
The gilt skull topped by a high gilt comb ornamented with decorative sprays of acorns and oak leaf, fitted with replacement full dress black bearskin comb.
The rayed helmet plate bearing Royal Arms over ‘WATERLOO’ battle honour; large ear rosettes to either side with leather backed gilt chin scales terminating in a buckle clasp the interior with leather lining.
