Kenjo Imari tokuri, Arita, Japan, circa 1700. Genroku Period. The squared vessel painted with shaped panels of flowering plants, upon textile design inspired grounds. Rising to a similarly decorated raised shoulder, surmounted by a shaped neck.
Decorated in typical Imari colours, with the addition of yellow enamel, and gilt.
Having a slightly recessed, unglazed base, with a Japanese character in black enamel.
Height: 20.5 cm, 8”.
Width: 9.5 cm, 3 3/4”.
Depth: 9.5 cm,3 3/4”.
Condition: Spout re attached to body. Firing fault to rim of spout. Typical minor wear to the enamel. Please see images for detail.
