Large Late 17th Century Kangxi Famille Verte / late Wucai Punch Bowl.
painted to the sides with shaped panels of various flowering plants with insects. Separated by orange with patterns of scrolling flowers.
The patterns were achieved using a wax resist technique so the crisp edges and shapes could be achieved.
the yellow band around the top is painted with flowering lines of peony.
The inside is painted with flowers seed heads and buds of lotus with green foliage.
The bowl is border line wucai or famille verte and shows how wucai developed into famille verte
Condition report
