Chinese early 18th century famille verte hexagonal stepped vase, made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at Jingdezhen for export to Europe.
Each section is painted with a different theme. The stepped base has a border typical of the Kangxi era of scrolling foliage with flower heads below butterflies and flowers.
The main and larger middle section is decorated with mythical beasts or mountainous river landscapes. Above this are the Horses of Wu Mu.
The top section has the jumping boys and auspicious flowers. Flowers and the border from the base repeated complete the top part.
Slightly smaller size than most.
