Chinese early 18th century - made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi- blue and white bowl made at the kilns at Jingdezhen. excellent potting, painting and subject matter.
Painted to the outside with possible silk merchants in a landscape setting with attendant. Hollow rock and pyramid fence with blossom by the trees and cliff.
The inside is painted with a seated Confucian scholar inside a double circle the inside of the slightly everted rim painted in blue leaving flowering scrolls in white
the underside is painted with a ding mark (mark of the scholar) inside a double circle.
Overall excellent colour, size and example of this type of bowl
