Chinese early 18th century klapmuts bowl, made during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi at the kilns at Jingdezhen for export to Europe.
Excellent finely potted bowl painted with the Mongolian Hunting pattern. The wonderful painting shows men on horse back with various weapons giving chase to animals. The painting shows wonderful characterful faces on animals and people.
The Amazon Hunting Pattern showing women hunting is the more common pattern.
The bowl is painted around the rim to both sides with auspicious items..
the inside of the bowl shows a seated Confucian Gentleman reading a manuscript.
The base is painted with a six figure Cheng H'ua mark as an apocryphal mark to honour and not deceive.
The bowl is also uncommon due to the slightly smaller size than is common
