An excellent quality and very unusual late 18th Century mahogany wheel barometer in essentially original condition.
The case, with pagoda-style pediment, cross-grained sides, extensive “rope-effect” banding and stylised star, fan and oval paterae.
The barometer is inset with well-engraved silvered brass manually adjustable hygrometer, mercury Fahrenheit thermometer, behind hinged door, and 8 inch diameter barometer dial, signed by the maker and protected by lockable, hinged, glazed wooden bezel.
