Jean Luce (1895-1964) Art Deco Period Vase.

Modernist design, ridged and angled cut decoration. Light olive green tinted glass.

Jean Luce was a French ceramist and glass designer.

He opened his own shop in 1923 and also exhibited his work through the Georges Rouard Gallery, 34 Rue de L.Opera, Paris.

He collaborated with other important craftsmen of the period including J.E. Puiforcat and exhibited at the major Paris exhibitions for the decorative arts.

He was commissioned to supply ceramic designs for the legendary Normandie liner, launched in 1935 and in 1937 became a member of the Union Artiste Moderne.

A group of artists formed in 1930 who rejected the more conservative luxurious style of the 1920s to create a modern machine age aesthetic.
