Japanese Kakiemon Plate.
Japanese kakiemon 17th century, Edo period deep saucer plate.
Plate with painting to show phoenix, below weeping plum blossom. Painted on the famed 'nigoshide' body - reknown white body.
The edge has a fine brown line around the eight sided scalloped edge.
The weeping plum blossom is not the usual flowers painted on the porcelain, the phoenix is more common.
The vibrant enamels are in excellent condition in the decoration as is the body.
Excellent plate.
