JAMES KERR-LAWSON (1864-1939).

James Kerr-Lawson was born in Anstruther, Fife but moved to Canada in his early childhood.  He studied at the Ontario School of Art 1879-1880 and returned to Europe to study in Rome and Paris .  From 1887 he travelled in France, Italy, Spain and Morocco and the present work dates to this period.  He settled in Glasgow where he was a leading member of the Glasgow Art Club.  In 1903 he moved to London and in 1908 became a founding member of the Senefelder Club which helped revive interesting in lithography.
