Description / Expertise:

Italian design in manner of Aldo Tura & Willy Rizzo: mulberry floating platform base low/coffee table, 1960s.

The combination of Modernist design with the densely grained mulberry veneers creates a refreshing, informal, warm and sophisticated aesthetic.
The large, flat top is practical for use as a sofa table and elegant with the deep frieze.
The recessed base creates the impression that the table is floating and lightens the aesthetic creating an elegant form.
Mulberry is highly regarded for its dense grain and beautiful figuring. The veneers are stunning and have a wonderful rich, graduating colour.
Original mid-century modern lacquered patina.
In the manner of low tables designed by Aldo Tura and Willy Rizzo.
