Decorated with a scroll label with the inscription 'Syo de Stidos Costo' against scrolling acanthus leaf ground.
The inscription may refer to a syrup decoction of stecados (French Lavender) and, or the root of costus Arabicus, a plant native in the East and formerly known as Aucklandia costus.
A similar jar can be seen in the Musée de la Chartreuse Collection, inventory no. A.3053.
