Irish George II mahogany console table.
A handsome Irish George II carved mahogany console table; the beautifully figured mahogany top with a ribbon and flower carved edge above a crossgrain veneered frieze and raised on bold cabriole legs which are exuberantly carved with rococo cartouches to the knee and terminate in hairy paw feet. The frieze drawer is later.
Circa: 1745.
The free flowing carving to the rococo cartouches on the legs and the broad hairy paw feet is typical of the best early Georgian Irish furniture.
