The two plank top, above a central cupboard, with a superb stepped arched and fielded panel door, the centre of which is decorated with a discreet inlaid star of boxwood and holly. Surrounding the door are seven oak-lined and cock-beaded drawers, all cross-banded in burr oak, which is repeated on the cupboard door. Around the base is a deep and heavy moulding, which continues around the front and sides. The dresser, which has single panel ends, stands on the original stile feet. The colour and surface are outstanding.
Westmorland, circa 1720.
